A hidden treasure on the borders of Surrey, Kent & Sussex.
The Crown has stood on Old Oxted’s High Street since the 1500s, extended in the 1800s when it took in an old village brewery. Two character bars sit on two levels. The lower one more traditional, warmed by a log fire, beneath Victorian panelling and windows of every shape.
It’s an independent free house, owner-run for over thirty years, pouring Fuller’s London Pride alongside three changing guest ales from local breweries. Not a chain, a proper local.
Our resident ghost. Ask at the bar for the spooky story!
